How Does it Work?

Although there is no cure for acne, it can be controlled and dramatically lessened. For the best outcome, numerous treatments and follow-up visits will be required to maintain the improved condition of your skin. 

During treatment, your technician will apply a carbon lotion that will give your skin a temporary muddy appearance, and then the laser treatment will begin. It won’t hurt, but it may feel warm and tingly, and you will hear a light snapping as the laser passes over your skin.

The peel treatment will remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and unplug blocked pores. The laser energy is then delivered down deep in the dermis to the sebaceous gland. The applied heat destroys the bacteria, shrinks the gland and stimulates skin regeneration.

The number of treatments will depend both on the severity of the acne and the individual, however after just the first treatment, signs of acne size reduction will be visible. Spectra Peel results are long lasting, but not permanent.
